Back in the peloton this year, Anna Van der Breggen has returned to success. The Dutchman won alone on the 4th stage of the Tour of Spanish female on Wednesday in Borja, her first victory in almost four years.
Aged 35, the double world champion 2018 and 2020 and Olympic Rio Champion in 2016 had made a three -year break, sliding in a role as sports director in the SD World team. Van der Breggen, whose last victory dates back to his coronation in the Giro in July 2021, broke down about seven kilometers from the finish, in the descent of the Puerto Col de El Bust where he was long in his ascent, until the last kilometers which did a big damage.

In the general classification, the young Dutchman Femke Gerritse kept four seconds ahead of Van der Breggen, her teammate at SD World, and ten on Marianne your before the first big mountain stage between Golmayo and Lagunas de Neila.
