This year, change of calendar for the French cycling Cup. It’s new, 4 successive rounds will be played in Brittany from May 8 to 11. And it starts this Thursday with the Aelne loops. The race was added to the weekend due to commemorations in Dunkirk who shifted another test. Brief, “An opportunity we seized “smiles Yannick Botrel, the race organizer. As a result, thanks to this strong cycling offer gathered over a weekend in Brittany, prestigious training like Movistar and Bahrain Victorious land for the first time in Châteaulin. Unheard of.
Aulne loops will be broadcast live on our website and social networks.
Thanks to the French FDJ Cup, all French pro teams will be there. And a headliner is already confirmed: Valentin Madouas, silver medalist at the Paris Olympics.
But the real revolution is elsewhere: the Ménez whatc’h, the mountain of Finistère, a justice of the loops will be climbed four times. “We had mounted it twice, then three … There we go to four. It’s a first”rejoices the organizer. Enough to explode the peloton.
The race remains on the circuit, DNA of the event. But the opening will be made by two large towers of 21 km around Saint-Ségal. Then, return to the classics with four 21.4 km loops, including the famous climb, before finishing on the small traditional circuit of 8.5 km, to travel seven times (instead of eight).
In total: 183 km and a final as always in front of the bus station at the Saint-Louis high school.

Market, shops, downtown life: nothing changes. The race is designed to cohabit with the daily life of Châteaulin, even on May 8. “People can always come easily to the center to enjoy the departure village, the restaurant area and the giant screen installed near the arrival”assure Yannick Botrel.
And on the parking side? “No worries, people park just outside the blocked area, it always went well.”
The curls are also an atmosphere. On site: grills, refreshments, entertainment, and even an FDJ truck for mechanical advice. The event can also count on a solid network of 200 volunteers, faithful to the position. “We have no concern for recruitment, on the contrary, people call us to offer their help!”
