Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13, in Montfaucon-en-Velay, the local club The mountain bike school of the Cyclo group in Montfaucon organized a test counting for the “regional trophy of the young mountain biker”.
Two specialties were on the program, the “Trial” Saturday from 2 p.m. and the “XCO” Sunday from 9 a.m. A good ten young runners from the Puy cycling union represented their club.
At the end of the day, the balance sheet was positive with a significant victory and places of honor of the progress made by these young mountain bikers. In “U9” Tristan Chabrillat ranked 8th. In “U11”, Loris Chabrillat confirmed his progress with a beautiful 5th place out of around twenty participants. In “U13”, Hugo Maurin showed his qualities by winning victory over more than fifty young classifieds. Noë Cayroche and Nathan Martineau finished 12th and 47th respectively. In “U15” the duo Mathis Pic and Mathias Vidal-Souveton finished in 13th and 15th positions. To finish the Evan Chabrillat table ranked 26th in “U17”.
Sunday, April 13, the UCPV road runners met at the Grand Prix of Neuville-sur-Ain on a event organized by the club “Bourg en Bresse Ain Cyclisme”. On the program, an 8.8 -kilometer circuit was to be traveled 7 times, a total of 61 km with almost 1000 meters of elevation gain. 70 runners were at the start. Robin Lopez made a very nice race. Well placed during the first two laps, he even tried to create the breakaway, but in vain. On the wet road of a winding descent, he was unfortunately the victim of a fall, which destined all his chances of victory. Nevertheless, he courageously left behind the main peloton and finally finished in 37th place. Dorian André, well wedged in the peloton throughout the race, resisted all the attacks of other competitors and took 20th place. Noah Lopez, on the other hand, well placed in the first round, was to give in field in the second round, to finish classified 41st.
