Cycling – 17th Genelard Prize Sunday May 8

ASPTT Chalon is in charge of organizing the 17th Prix de Génelard. This will take place on Thursday, May 8 with the financial support of the municipality. Nearly 150 runners are expected.

Three races, which will leave from rue Jules Ferry (in of the Maurice Deley Halle), will be on the , with, from 10 am, the minimal, and sixth category. Then, from 2:30 p.m., the runners of categories 4 and 5 then finally, at 4.30 p.m., the start of the with categories 2 and 3.

Contested on a particularly selective circuit of 5.250 km, with in particular the long coast of the Bruyères then the more technical course which will bring the back to the Rosière subdivision, these races should be particularly animated.

Nearly 40 people from bicycle schools will evolve from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. First by a road race (distance from 400m to 10kms depending on age) and a cyclo-cross on the stadium facing the finish.

The festival committee will be in charge of the refreshment part. It offers a lunch (ham in sauce, fries, cheese, apple and coffee pie) at a price of € 12.

At the end of the morning for morning races and around 7 p.m. for those in the afternoon, prize discounts will see the best awards, thanks to the municipality of Génelard (lots and sheaves) and traders and craftsmen who, for their part, will offer the cuts and trophies.

From 9:30 am and until the end of the races, the vehicles taking rue Jules Ferry, rue Lamartine, rue Victor Hugo, the road to Martigny, Les Grandes Bruyères, the Route de Chavanne, rue de Palinges and again the road to Martigny will have to leave the runners free. Traffic on the race circuit can only be done in the direction of the latter. Parking will be strictly prohibited on the aforementioned roads from 9 a.m. until the end of the race.
