Prince Stéphane de Lobkowicz, head of one of the ten princely families in Belgium, arrived on Tuesday April 15 in Kinshasa. Its mission, a private initiative, consists in the development of a directory of Congolese elites and personalities who contribute positively to the development of the DRC.
This directory, named “Gotha”, aims to connect these striking personalities of the DRC with potential foreign investors. The targeted personalities come from various socio-economic and political sectors of the country.
DRC, land of the future
According to Prince Stéphane Lobkowicz, the war that the DRC is going through should not divert attention from its promising future: “Very clearly, the future is in this country. That is to say that the Congo leaves, and the future is built here, it is clear. It is a country with great riches, with immense potential and a resilient population in the face of difficulties. War is something abominable, terrible, monstrous. It’s something that always ends. And when she is finished, this is where you will have to be, this is where you will have to come. And hey, I come a little bit ahead. »»
Result of acting diplomacy
Nicole Bomele, Belgian deputy, who accompanies the Belgian prince in his mission in the DRC, underlines the importance of active diplomacy for the development of the DRC:
“The DRC is a country assaulted by Rwanda, and Belgium is held here as a female. Thanks also to the acting diplomacy of the President of the Republic, the situation in the Congo is now audible internationally. Belgium has played a big role, and I think it is thanks to this too. It is important for me to bring here a great personality like the prince, it is important ”.
The “Gotha” directory initiative is supported by Professor Massamba Lulendo, head of the IBO I&F, a business incubator.
It highlights the importance of networking: “ We have great initiatives in this country, we have a lot of things that are done, but that are not sufficiently valued outside. It is networking, therefore networking, which must really sell everything we achieve. And it starts with the recording of the most important personalities, elites that contribute to the development of this country. ”
The initiators wish to concretize this project as soon as possible so that it is made available to the public.
