A police officer from the Ottawa Police Service (SPO) was suspended from her office without pay last Friday, after being accused of six sexual offenses, including three for sexual assault.
Agent Charlene Abella was charged by the Peel Regional Police Service of three charges of sexual assault, two charges of sexual contact, as well as a chief of accusation of sexual exploitation, confirmed the SPO by press release.
It is however specified that these accusations have no links with the accused’s professional activities.
The SPO was notified of allegations relating to people under the age of 18 on March 27.
The investigation was finally entrusted to the regional police of Peel to “guarantee that the case is processed by an external organization unrelated to the parties in question”, can be read.
Charlene Abella was suspended from his duties at the Ottawa police service and was to appear last Friday.
