Monday May 5, 2025, around 2:15 p.m., an important leak of gas broke out on rue de Coatufal, in the town of Saint-Renan (North Finistère).
According to the first elements, it was caused by the rupture of a pipe consecutive to current road work in this sector.
No impact
The firefighters, in connection with the GRDF teams, quickly intervened and managed to clog the pipe, while the soldiers of the Saint-Renan brigades community secured the premises and blocked access to the street.
“The wind quickly evacuated the escaped gas, the flight had no major impact for the population,” reassures Captain Manuel Lozac’Hmemeur, assistant to the Marine Squadron Rababasé, commander of the Departmental Gendarmerie Company of Brest.
The intervention ended around 3 p.m.
