Gas price, allowances, gray cards … Several changes are to be expected from this May 1, 2025. Changes that could do good to the portfolio.
Each beginning of the month is synonymous with change, and this Thursday, May 1, 2025 is no exception. At the start of the month, you will have to expect certain changes, in particular on the price of gas and the amount of social allowances. Some of the latter were revalued last month, on April 1, but the RSA beneficiaries had to wait this May 1 to see their amount increase. Active solidarity income was upgraded by 1.7 % in order to take into account inflation. This means that a couple with two children will see their RSA go from 1,334.98 euros to 1,357.70 euros without deduction from the housing package. A similar increase is to be expected concerning the disabled adult allowance, the maximum amount of which goes from 1,016.05 euros to 1,033.32 euros. The activity bonus will also increase, going to 633.21 euros for a single person, a gain of 10.58 euros.
Decrease in gas price
Although the radiators are surely extinguished, the price of gas decreases this May 1, 2025. Energy bills should drop by 6.4 %, from 0.1241 euros to 0.1162 Euro per kilowatt hour (kWh). A first since November 2024 which could represent an annual savings of several tens of euros on your invoices, depending on your consumption.
The paid gray card for electric vehicles
So far, buyers of electric cars have been exempt from paying their gray card, in order to encourage the French to turn to electric. They only had to pay the administrative and sending costs, or 13.76 euros. From May 1, 2025, you will have to pay the same price as for a thermal car. The price of the gray card varies depending on the region. The new owners of electric cars will therefore have to pay 36.20 euros in Hauts-de-France, 43 euros in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Corsica, 54.50 euros in Occitanie, 54.95 euros in Île-de-France, 51 euros in the Pays de la Loire, 53 euros in New Aquitaine, 55 euros in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, 59 euros in the PACA region, Grand-Est regions, Center-Val de Loire, Brittany and Normandy.
Carpooling in Île-de-France
This is a change that will not appeal to Parisian motorists and who will come into force on May 2. A carpooling route is open to the Parisian device and anyone circulating alone there is a risk of receiving a flat -rate fine of 135 euros. The goal is to promote carpooling, in order to avoid taking the car when you are alone. A dozen radars capable of determining how many people are on board have been installed. The carpooling route is now reserved for vehicles carrying at least two people, buses, taxis and emergency vehicles, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. It runs between the Issy quay and the Bercy door in both directions of traffic.
The glass instructions return to four regions
In order to reduce the environmental impact of containers, the glass instruction returns to more than 800 large areas, in four regions. These are the countries of the Loire, Brittany, Normandy and Hauts-de-France. Consumers will therefore see the price of some of their products contained in glass increase by 20 or 30 cents, which will be donated to them in cash or in the form of a voucher when returning from the container. The containers will then be cleaned and reused so as not to recycle them, which uses energy.
Intimacy coordinator on filming
It is a big change for the actors. An agreement on the prevention and reporting of gender -based and sexual violence in audiovisual provides for the compulsory intervention of an intimacy coordinator if the request is made by the artist concerned. A majority of representatives in this sector have signed this agreement. This therefore means that in the event of filming a sexual scene for a film, a series, a TV movie or any other audiovisual production, the artist may ask to be assisted by a third person who will ensure that each one is respected.
Floor remuneration increases in the animation sector
People providing animation or supervision functions in leisure centers or summer camps depend on an educational commitment contract (EEC). The CEE remuneration floor increases this May 1st. So far, the minimum remuneration was 26.14 euros gross per day, compared to 51.08 euros gross since May 1. The government recalls that this type of contract “derogates from the rules of labor law on certain aspects (working time, break time and remuneration)”.
