Remco Evenepoel will return to the competitive this Friday, on the Brabançonne arrow. On Instagram, the champion published a moving message to thank his loved ones for support during what he describes as “the most difficult battle in his life”.
Remco Evenepoel is about to return to competition this Friday on the Brabançonne arrow. After hitting a post office at the beginning of last December, the double Olympic champion therefore returns to competition.
In a publication on social networks, the Belgian confided in a long moving message: “The week of my return has finally arrived. After days, weeks, months of waiting, I can finally turn to my first races. The path that led me where I am today was very difficult and trying. It is undoubtedly the most difficult battle of my life so far. Mentally and physically, I can honestly say that I was lower than earth and that I really doubted my future“wrote the champion before thanking those who supported him.
“I want to tell you that without you, I would probably have stopped my career. (…) I can only tell you that I love you so much and that I thank you for what you are. You are the most beautiful person (inside and outside) in the whole universe. And I am incredibly proud to be your husband and to be able to fight for us and our future“. A real declaration of love for his wife, Oumi Rayane.
Before thanking his friends, but also the medical staff, Remco Evenepoel also wanted to write a few lines for his parents. “”Since I was very small, you have always done everything for me and it is certain that I will never forget it“.
Remco Evenepoel is indeed back and will undoubtedly be keen to show that it found the shape, this Friday, on the Brabançonne arrow. A race that will be lived live, on RTL Club and RTL Play from 2:45 p.m.
