0.3% drop in IPC last March

The Consumer Price Index (IPC) of households in the city of Oujda fell 0.4% March compared to the previous month.

According to a note from the regional directorate of High Commissioner in Planning (HCP) of the Oriental, this variation is explained by the decrease of 0.8% of the price of food prices and the increase in the price of the price of non-food of 0.2%.

The reductions in the prices of food products observed between February and March 2025 mainly concern “milk, cheese and eggs” with 4.2%, “meats” with 2.4%, “oils and fats” with 1.4%, “fish and seafood” with 0.9%and “bread and cereals” with 0.2%, specifies the same source, noting that the prices of “vegetables” 2.6%, while those of the “fruits” recorded an increase of 0.9%.
For non -food products, the prices of “fuels” fell 1.0%, adds the same source.

In annual shift, the IPC recorded an increase of 0.9% in March 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year. This development is explained by the increase in the price of food prices of 0.5% and the price of the price of non -food products of 1.1%, reports the map.

In addition, the increase in food prices is the of the rise in prices of “food products and non -alcoholic drinks” by 0.4%, adds the note, noting that for non -food products, variations range from a drop of 2.4% for “transport” to an increase of 5.2% for “clothing items and shoes”.

As for the consumer price index for the three months of 2025, it increased 1.4% compared to the same period of the previous year due to the increase in the price of food products of 1.9% and the price of non -food products of 0.9%.
