And new. The Books En Fête association, chaired by Jean-Philippe Deflorenne, actively prepares the next edition of Book fair de Vernon, in Eure. An event organized on Sunday May 11 at the Château de Bizy, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in partnership with the City.
Headliner this year: the Minister of the Armed Forces and former mayor of Vernon, Sébastien Lecornu, author of Towards war? edited at Plon in 2024.
Fifty authors expected
In the case of Bizy Castlesome fifty authors will meet. The enthusiasts of novels, biographies, works of history, children’s books, comics will therefore find the Minister of the Armed Forces.
Among the many headliners: the psychoanalyst and essayist Marie Balmary, the scientific columnist Michel Chevalet, the actor Patrick Chesnais, the novelist, journalist and swimming champion Gilles Bornais, the columnist and essayist Peer by Jong, the columnist, historian and essayist Pierre serve, the journalist, writer and Franco-Algerian director Mohamed Sifaoui Emmanuel de Waresquiel, the humorist Pierre Douglas, the prefect Ziad Kouri, the writer and columnist Paul Melun, the editor -in -chief of Figaro.fr Frédéric Picard, or the researcher of the CNRS Boris Gourévitch.

Four literary cafes on the program
During the Vernon Book Fair, four literary cafes are organized:
2:15 p.m., Peer de Jong, Putin, Lord of War (Lord of War).
3 p.m., Patrick Chesnais, letters of excuse.
3:45 p.m., Pierre serve, de Gaulle and Pétain, a Shakespearean drama.
4:15 p.m., Mohamed Sifaoui, Hezbollah, terrorists in the service of the Mollahs, and Hamas, dive into the heart of the terrorist group.
New for the 2025 edition: the partnership sealed with the La Société des Bére bookstores, based on rue d’Ablofera.

For their part, the organizers believe “that it is important to work a library independent of downtown ”.
Anxious to work collegially, the organizers still have work to do. “It is a question of having the books in quantity (approximately 2,000) and in time,” concludes Aude Lemullier.
