The county family distinguished itself in the 18th century in the Austrian territories. In Belgium, several family members have held high office, such as senator, bourgmestre, provincial governor or even president of the International Olympic Committee. Count Alfred, a businessman linked to the Artois brewery, created this foundation which finances health, education, culture, the environment and Olympic sport.
