Istraille, a painter installed in Plozévet, sublimated the gable of the bar-tabac les capisters of a mural painting that can be seen on rue Laënnec, coming from the center of Audierne. Alexandra the nobleman, owner of the establishment, had been refused by the buildings of France the right to affix on the gable of her building two posters signaling the object of his activity. It was then that he came the desire to decorate his wall with a beautiful fresco in connection with the sea.
She then contacted Istraille, a rather portrait painter, inspired by pop art, but also street art artist, who works on order. Its murals adorn various buildings throughout Brittany, in Douarnenez, Landudec, Guilvinec for those who are close to Cape Sizun. The one who now dresses the les Capistes bar is therefore the first which integrates the territory.
“children are jealous of me”
They took almost a year to mature the project, supervised by the buildings of France and dependent on the weather.
Once launched, from the top of its scale, ISTRAILLE was able to interact with passers -by intrigued by its work.
“It gets me out of my workshop where I work alone. With wall frescoes, it’s always very friendly to have contacts with people and what amuses me a lot is the children. They are jealous of me, because I have the right to paint on the walls … “
