At 24, the young Parisian artist Aurore Guez is distinguished by her immersive exhibitions installed in ever more eccentric places. Without going through art galleries, she patiently builds her artistic journey.
Aurore Guez’s canvases are tired. For four years, this 24 -year -old Parisian painter has been carrying out her exhibition works in exhibition, in more unusual places than the other: a grocery store, toilets, a beds store, a cleaning station, or in the middle of the street.
This summer, his portraits will finally be entitled to a little respite: from May 2 to September 1, 2025, they settled at the Hoxton hotel in Paris. About fifteen canvases to discover, witnesses to the lightning development of a young artist who draws his way off the beaten track.

It all starts during the Pandemic of Cavid-19. As a number of confined, Aurore sinks into a deep depression. “I had repeated anxiety attacks, I couldn’t breathe,” she said in match. So far, her mode of expression was music: with a composer father, she had gotten into the habit of singing. But the anxieties suffocate him, the song stops. So she turns to the drawing. Encouraged by her big brother, who worked at the time for an art dealer, she tried painting. “The next day, I got started,” she says.

From her teenage room in Vincennes, she continues the portraits. Disported faces, enlarged eyes, striated skins of raw brush blows. Quickly, which could have remained a hobby became obsession and therapy. “I painted without references, instinctively,” she says.
Generation Z obliges, Aurore posts her first paintings on Instagram, including a portrait of the Belgian rapper Krisy. Very quickly, it includes the codes of the network and affects a young audience, often foreign to art galleries. With the first fans also come the criticism: “I was told:” What are these Daubes? Returns with the cartoonists of Montmartre “. I was struck by this contempt, for me and for them by the way, ”she notes.

Far from discouraging it, these remarks strengthen its determination. She produces more than 300 canvases, to the chagrin of her parents, who see the works invade their apartment. “They are looking forward to my own workshop,” she smiles. In terms of studies, she lets go of eco-management for a master’s degree in communication, training that allows her to master her image and build her community. Because Aurore does everything herself: painting, communication, organization.

Deprived of access to the closed network of galleries, it innovates. She exhibits on the street, offers her paintings to passers -by, and attracts attention. “Very quickly, I understood that I was going to lose a lot of energy to try to give me a place. So I decided to build my own path. »»
Inspired by the independent rap scene of the 2010s – Nekfeu, PNL, Krisy -, she claims her independence. “In art, it didn’t exist too much, so I wanted to do the same at my humble level. »»
In January 2024, a raw report on its wild exhibition in the street exploded its notoriety: two million views, and an Instagram community which doubles to reach nearly 10,000 subscribers. Patrons and brands are approaching it. Aurore, with her long brown hair and her lively gaze, understands that her offbeat concepts are like. “I have a great passion for artistic direction. I want to create concepts, transform my exhibitions into total art shows, ”she explains.

In parallel, she takes art history lessons, discovers Lucian Freud, Otto Dix, Alice Neel. “It reinforced my desire to make the flesh appear, the bodies. She imagines immersive exhibitions, mixing painting and staging, sometimes with actors.
On Instagram, she paints recognized figures, identifies them, and goes directly to meet them. A way to feed your account with exclusive photos. The DJ Myd, the concertist Julien Granel, Louane… and Snoop Dogg.
To meet the American star, Aurore Guez turns into a real investigator during the Paris Olympic Games. Informed by “two sources”, she finds the rapper’s hotel in the 17thth borough. In front of the crowd of fans, the Californian does not stop. Too bad, with her table, she patients for several hours. On the return of the star, she is alone. He stops, signs the canvas and invites him to come and discuss. “It lasted 10 minutes, but for me, it was 2 hours. It was too crazy, ”enthuses the young woman still at the time, managed everything on her own.
Today, friends provide him with precious support. She surrounds herself with a 100 % female team: Imen Berouk, alias Kesaly, for press relations, Charlotte Gaulupeau for the photos. Two new exhibitions are already in preparation. Aurore advances, faithful to her method: do everything in his own way, without asking permission.
