Artist Elodie Larrieu unveils her painting for the first time

For her, it is a big first. She had to overcome her apprehensions to finally exhibit her work as a painter. Élodie Larrieu from Picarrou near Cintegabelle in Haute-Garonne had already become acquainted with the world of artists during a Carlanaise night where two of her paintings were enthroned on Place de l’Europe.

Colorful acrylics spotted by Christine Lavabre, always looking for talent for Jacky Nodinot’s La Comète workshop. An appointment was made and for almost 2 years, Elodie seriously set to work outside of her job as an animator so that an exhibition room could be dedicated to her.

Thus, surrounded by a few friends and art lovers, for the opening at the Carla-Bayle of her exhibition entitled L’envol, Elodie, visibly moved, admits: “I had to myself to show my work as a painter and reveal a part of myself like that”. What jumps out at you when you look at her paintings are precisely those eyes that stare at you in each work, a look that says something.

“This exhibition is the culmination of letting go of my most intimate emotions, an outlet, a refuge,” she breathes. From the blue or orange-tinged period, from the graphics of time to the great movements of flight, the artist thus sends back to back its different facets.

“I expressed the chaos that is burnout, the loss of meaning and bearings, the love that passes and then goes away,” she wrote on the presentation sheet.

But Elodie, who has always had a special attraction to painting, first started out in linocutting, some of whose paintings were printed with her feet are also on display. “I didn’t have a press, so it was with my feet and the weight of my body,” she laughs. Techniques that she doesn’t hesitate to pass on to her young audience in her job as an animator.

Exhibition visible until September 30, free entry »
