“We’re already thinking about Botox, but we both encourage each other to stay natural”

Second couple in our series: Flora, 31, and Patrick, 30, together since 2017, married for two years. He is of Taiwanese origin; she is mixed French-Senegalese. They met in New York; live and work in Paris…

Madame Figaro. – What did you like about the other?
Flora. – I found him very charming, very funny, with a beautiful smile.

Patrick. – I was speechless when I saw her, tall, slender, with beautiful eyes.

And seven years later?
Flora and Patrick. –We both gained weight because we share a passion for cooking.

Are you already thinking about getting older?
Flora. – Patrick always wanted to be older. Since I was 30, I would like time to slow down.

Patrick. –We especially think about staying healthy. The better things go, the more we pay attention to our lifestyle and what we eat. We become reasonable. We cut down on alcohol. I play a lot of sports, including basketball, and we play tennis together. We are not afraid of growing old, but above all of seeing our parents age, even if they are still very healthy. I take a lot of food supplements, vitamin D, omega-3, creatine, collagen… I encourage Flora to imitate me. In New York, it was sauna and ice bath every day.

Do you take care of yourself a lot?
Flora. – Enormously. I have a passion for beauty products and makeup. Sunday is our spa day at home with scrub, moisturizing mask, serum, oil, manicure, pedicure. My mother passed on to me this beauty culture “especially where people don’t see.”

Patrick. – Already in Taiwan, I had been taking care of my skin since I was 16 years old. And in Asian culture, you never enter your bed without being clean.

Do you give yourself advice?
Flora. – Yes, I force him to wear sunscreen and moisturize his body. He’s a bit lazy. He used to pluck his eyebrows. I prefer them more complete. For me, he stopped.

Patrick. – I push her to be more daring, less classic, but at the same time, I don’t like it when she wears too much makeup.

Favorite products?
Flora. – It changes a lot, but I have my sure values: Paula’s Choice, Fresh, Shiseido, Pai. For make-up, Dior and Ilia. We are both opting more and more for clean products.

Medicine and cosmetic surgery, an option?
Flora. – Yes, I’m already thinking about Botox. But we still both encourage each other to stay natural.

Patrick. – We will get tattoos when our children grow up. My parents always told me: “No stickers on a Ferrari!”
