Mamadou Diop, CEO of Iseg, and singer Dieyna Baldé will be tried on June 19, 2025 in connection with a case dating from 2020. Although Dieyna’s family withdrew their complaint, the Dakar criminal court decided to continue the affair. This is what our colleagues at Kawtef reveal, citing Les Échos.
The affair broke out five years ago, with serious accusations of embezzlement of a minor, pedophilia and corruption, targeting Diop. According to the newspaper Les Échos, the CEO was arrested on March 6, 2020 after the broadcast of compromising videos and allegations that he was responsible for the singer’s pregnancy. A month after his pre-trial detention, Diop was released under judicial supervision.
Despite the withdrawal of the complaint by the family, which has long fueled the controversy, Diop admitted to being the father of Dieyna Baldé’s child and committed to assuming his responsibilities. The case, which had a significant impact at the time, is now on the judicial calendar, forcing the accused to answer for his actions in court next June.
As the Kawtef website reminds us, this day of June 19, 2025 promises to be crucial in clarifying an affair which marked Senegalese public opinion a few years ago.
