This year, the election returns to the banks of the Lot in Espalion.
Forty years ago now, from 1979 to 1992 exactly, Espalion welcomed Geneviève de Fontenay every summer wearing her impressive hat, accompanied by the reigning Miss France and many others. Invited by the Espalion Children's Association in Paris, chaired by Roger Malaret, and the municipality, this attractive team resided for a few days in Espalion on the occasion of the election of Miss Rouergue, qualified to then participate in the election of Miss France. An event marked by a prestigious evening at the Francis-Poulenc center, which attracted a good thousand spectators, Espalionnais, Parisians on vacation, or curious people from all over the region.
Following a chance meeting and a great initiative from David Blanc (president of the Passion modelism association and already initiator of the relaunch of the Espalion hill climb) and a contact with Amandine Alcouffe president of the Miss Aveyron committee, This event will be revived in Espalion on Saturday April 5, 2025 in collaboration with the municipality.
This Saturday, the Miss Aveyron committee with its president accompanied by Carla Bonnal responsible for the candidates and Lola Ségur, reigning Miss Aveyron 2024, were in Espalion to officially launch this event.
Registrations are open
They must be done on the Miss Midi-Pyrénées website and candidates must be over 18 years old and be at least 1.70 m tall. This before Saturday March 1st, the date of the casting which also includes a general knowledge test. The selected candidates will be gathered in Espalion on March 15 for a day of cohesion where they will discover the main assets of the city and meet local partners.
-The Miss Aveyron election will take place on Saturday April 15. Miss Aveyron and her first runner-up will be selected to participate in the Miss Midi-Pyrénées competition, itself a qualifier for the Miss France competition next December.
The title holder Lola Ségur did not fail to encourage potential candidates not to hesitate to take the plunge “in this unforgettable adventure that makes you grow”.
An evening that many Espalionnais have already checked off their agenda. For the record, Espalionnais Sabrina Turlan, now a pharmacist in St-Côme-d'Olt, won the title of Miss Aveyron in 2018.
