The Facebook page “SPM Photo Challenge” has brought together thousands of members from Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and elsewhere for several years. Each week, a new theme is chosen with the aim of sharing the most beautiful photos. Olga Leloche, administrator of the group, was the guest of It’s you who says it.
Created in 2017 by Didier Girardin, “Challenge photo SPM” is a Facebook group where we share photos every day, mostly taken in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. Since 2019, Olga Leloche has taken over to make the adventure last. The page now has almost 5,000 members. “There are many people who tell me that we must continue, that it is good and that it shows beautiful landscapes of the archipelago” Olga says.

The magic of this group is this way of discovering the archipelago differently, through different perspectives. “I think there are people who know their archipelago but who wander around less. This perhaps allows them to discover places they don’t know.” This is how each week, a different theme is chosen, and members are invited to share with the community their most beautiful photos, although with rules to respect. “We cannot publish more than three photos per week” Olga explains.
The Saint-Pierrais and Miquelonnais who are elsewhere are impatiently waiting to see photos that remind them of their archipelago.
If there are a few more participants and members every day, there are also the discreet ones, who are content to admire the photographs of others. But one thing is certain, it is that “Challenge photo SPM” brings the population together around the same fervor, their love for Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. Nothing After this radio interview, the group also welcomed a few hundred new members on Facebook.
