Angoulême: the impactful works of Diane Victor are on display at the Museum until January 5

Sharing her time between South Africa, where she lives and works in Johannesburg, and the Charente limousine at the “Grand Village” workshop in Massignac, she benefits from a unique perspective from French spectators, with whom she still remains relatively unknown. “It’s interesting. Here my work is perceived differently with a new perspective. The questions asked are different,” she confided during the opening Friday evening.

His creations, which use various techniques such as prints or drawings, or more surprisingly, soot and ashes, fascinate with their black beauty and intensity. “La Charge”, this is the name of this exhibition, offers a selection of old and new works, confronting universal notions of responsibility and collective memory.

The artist will give a conference this Thursday, December 19, at 12:15 p.m., at the museum before a public demonstration of soot creation, at 4 p.m., at the Image gallery, at 3 rue de Genève.

Exhibition on view until January 5, at the Angoulême Museum. Full price: €5.60 – Reduced price: €3.40.
