Cognac: sculptor Jacky Cognolato installs his works in an office, which has become a temporary gallery

He will be present every Tuesday and Thursday in December in this new improvised gallery in the premises of In Cognac Magazine located on Boulevard Denfert-Rochereau.

Eric Dosiere, the magazine's publishing director, knew the work of Jacky Cognolato. “We’ve had this office for a year. We have just released our winter issue, our room is empty, we no longer have any meetings so we said to ourselves why not open it up to an artist. We will try to have people at our house all the time. »

Jacky Cognolato exhibits in two other places in Cognac but is always looking for places to show his works. “We realize that there are plenty of artists around here, but few means of expression, few art galleries, only a few municipal halls. »

An exhibition that could lead to others

And this meeting could give rise to a larger project. “We discussed with the Cognac merchants' association the idea of ​​putting an artist in each business. We will try to work on this for next year in order to put it in place in the spring. If we have artists in a lot of showcases, it will create emulation. »

“There are lots of empty windows,” notes the sculptor. “I can bring in a range of good regional artists. But we are not going to expose just anything, and not just any time. » Jacky Cognolato is already thinking of creating a selection committee. Painting, sculpture, all forms of art would be accepted, and interested artists can already contact the duo.
