A risky challenge that Luchino Gatti, resident of Soisy-sous-Montmorency (Val-d'Oise), took on in 2015.

It is clear that the pari turns out to be a winner.

Right now, and until 1^is December, the photographer exhibited at the Orangerie du Val-Ombreux.

He offers different photos on the history of his familyhis Italian origins and the inspiring life journey of his ancestors.

A first

After two exhibitions photo in collaboration with other artists, this is the first time that Luchino Gatti embarks on a large-scale project like this alone.

He decided to name his exhibition “O Sarracino”, a chanson Italian from the 1950s.

I'm proud of how it turned out, especially from my family's point of view. I wanted to show them that they are worthy of existence and I wanted to bring them this moment of joy.

After a voyage in Italy Over four months, the Soiséen was able to draw the necessary resources for his major project.

“It’s a personal quest translated into photos,” underlines the former professional fighter.

Ses grands-parents arrived in France in 1957.

I wanted to show their way of life, why they left. It was also a quest for identity in reverse, thanks to my camera.

A boxer since he was ten, Luchino Gatti made a career in professional.

French bantamweight champion in 2009, he abandoned this sport that he loved so much due to lack of financial prospects.

Atypical journey

“Boxing is not developed here. There should only be five professionals throughout the country,” he laments.

In 2015, less than a year after his last fight at Argenteuilthe 33-year-old man joins the city of movie theaterfounded by the famous director Luc Besson.

He tried his hand at short and medium-length films, then launched other projects, such as a photo documentary in Armeniaon the war and the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, but also “New World Rap”, centered on the group 667 and its leader, Freeze Corleone.
