It was on France Inter that the actor, invited by Léa Salamé for his film “Elyas”, spoke about a misadventure he experienced as a young actor.
During the interview, the journalist returned to the beginnings of the career of Roschdy Zem, who today stands as a huge actor in the French cinematic landscape. The host of “What a time! » continues with an anecdote in order to verify its veracity, “It’s true that 25 years ago, you were hired on a blockbuster, and that 15 days before the start of filming, the director called you and said ” we have a problem, the main actress does not want to share the poster with an Arab” and you were fired? », Launches the journalist.
“I was fired yes… That’s the end of the story. I saw the actress again, but I don’t blame her… I never blamed her,” he explains without revealing who it is, probably out of respect or putting the person in embarrassment. The actor, however, blames the production for having “accepted the wishes of the actress”.
“You realize the violence of the words! It was humiliating, really! I felt humiliated. I wanted to stop.” he confides. Finally, it was the actor’s parents who at the time made him persevere, “they told me that it was normal to be confronted with that too in this profession, so I persevered”, he punctuates.
