Benito Pérez Galdos, a Spanish great

Fortunata and Jacinta Is it Galdos' greatest novel? No doubt. The greatest Spanish novel of the 19th century^e century — in competition with The Regentby Clarin — which was the great century of the European novel? No doubt too. At least that's what Mario Vargas Llosa thinks, who spent the time of confinement reading Galdos's more than abundant work in its entirety and devoted an essay to him which appears today in France.

At the same time as we can read a new translation of Fortunata and Jacintaincluding the previous one, published by the French publishers reunited, who have done enormously to make the author of Misericordiahas long since become untraceable.
