Saturday and Sunday, the Ingres-Bourdelle Museum (MIB) is offering several new activities to (re)discover the exhibition “Ingres and Delacroix, artists' objects”.
Since last July, the Ingres Bourdelle Museum (MIB) has hosted the exhibition “Ingres and Delacroix, artists' objects” which is preparing to lower the curtain on Sunday November 10. Organized in collaboration with the Musée national Eugène-Delacroix, this compilation of very touching paintings, sketches and personal memories transports the general public into the universe into the creative process of two of the greatest painters of the 19th century in France. In total, 173 works are to be (re)discovered before November 10. On the occasion of this closing weekend, the MIB team has scheduled several meetings.
Saturday November 9at 11 a.m., the Ingres trio (viola violin and cello) will perform the melodies of Beethoven and Haydn, musicians admired by Ingres. Those who wish can extend this musical moment with a brunch at the museum (reservation required). The concert is free.
Sunday November 10at 10:30 a.m., a reading and entertainment time will be organized around the tales of the hippogriff. This whimsical and mischievous animal, which we know in particular through the Harry Potter saga highlighted in the Jardin des Plantes, also hides in the rooms of the museum. On Sunday, he will appear in the arms of a storyteller. Around tales as sparkling as they are original, the MIB invites young and old to immerse themselves in works from the museum. Prices: €3 per child and €2 per accompanying person.
Then, at 2:30 p.m., time for an “unguided” tour of the Ingres-Delacroix exhibition. Everything begins like a visit and ends like an improvisation… Story, conference, adventure, poetry: everything depends on the exchange, the moment and the works. A unique moment between theater and circus. Prices: €5.
Jean-Michel Othoniel's exhibition to see until January 5
Also this Sunday, November 10, a musical stroll will be hosted from 5 p.m. Thanks to the presence of a trio between theater, dance and music, the Ingres-Delacroix exhibition will be revealed in another light. The voice of one will give meaning, then fade away to invite you to take the time to enjoy the works in music and dance. Several rooms are there, each with its own atmosphere, its own moment, in words, in notes and in body. Prices: €5.
Finally, the exhibition “On the Ruins of the Black Prince” should not be forgotten. Proposed by the contemporary artist and French sculptor, Jean-Michel Othoniel, this major work was designed and installed tailor-made for the MIB. His work on glass block, begun more than ten years ago, here takes the form of monumental architecture. The internationally renowned artist evokes the ever-renewing hope and sacredness of life. As if emerging from a tomb of black glass, concretions of vertiginous mirror bricks soar towards the sky and defy weightlessness. A wonderful exhibition to discover until January 5, 2025.
