Architects continue to push the boundaries in terms of construction. The proof with this impressive skyscraper which will see the light of day in 2028.
This is a residential project that does not lack audacity. Named Muraba Veil, the tower designed by the RCR Arquitectes agency in collaboration with the developer Muraba will be 70 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower and approximately the same size as the Empire State Building in New York. But that's not what makes it special…
The originality of this project lies not in its height, but in its width since the skyscraper will be particularly narrow at only 22.5 meters wide. the result? The tower, which looks like a school ruler, will make you dizzy with the impression that it could fall at any moment, as our brain is programmed to evaluate the stability of an object based on its proportions, and especially its its base.
Concretely, it will only measure the width of a single apartment per floor and each housing unit will then have a panoramic view on each side of the city of Dubai, including the Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world. The developers assure their clients ready to invest at least 4.5 million euros in their new apartment ranging from two to five bedrooms: “the sky is your only neighbor” and privacy is particularly preserved. They will move into a luxurious building including a spectacular underground spa, leisure spaces, a restaurant, an art gallery, a private cinema room and even a padel court.
And it's not just for the view that the apartments occupy the entire surface of each floor. This pass-through design facilitates natural ventilation and reduces the need for air conditioning. Another particularity of the project, the Muraba Veil presents a stainless steel mesh covering inspired by the traditional moucharabiehs of Arab architecture. It allows light to pass through while providing shade and limiting heat inside the tower. By combining innovative materials and a design inspired by traditional solutions, the Muraba Veil is a true architectural feat for hot climates.
Located in the prestigious Al Wasl district of Dubai, this ambitious project is in the construction phase and is expected to be completed in December 2028. Housing units are still available, including two to four bedroom apartments, duplexes and a luxury penthouse.
