The longest fresco in the Ardennes is completed, along the Charleville-Mézières ring road

Shades of blue, purple, touches of green… and in the middle, in white capital letters, “Boredom is no longer my love”, taken from Bad blooda poem by Arthur Rimbaud. The verse is written over a hundred meters, perfectly legible, on the retaining wall of the Saint-Julien cemetery. It was carried out as part of the Parcours Rimbaud, in order to promote the largest entrance to the city.

Jordan Harang, the artist author of this monumental fresco 175 meterswhich is among the longest in , completed its work on Tuesday October 8, 2024, at the end of the afternoon, not a little proud of the work accomplished over three weeks, less only one day of interruptionas well as two half-days of rain.

A total of 180 hours on site for Jordan Harang

He will have spent nearly 180 hours on the edge of the ring road, protected by guardrails and assisted for a few days by a building painter.

The street artist has paid attention to the first feedback, on social networks, and they are quite good. “ Most people like it, some don’t. It’s normal, it’s a huge drawing in public space. And then, you can’t please everyone », Comments Jordan Harang soberly.

The inauguration of the largest work carried out in recent decades in the Ardennes should take place in November.
