As part of Pink October, a photography workshop in Vence in the Alpes-Maritimes offers women affected by cancer a session as a moment of respite, an enchanted parenthesis in their journey.

Turn the lens towards others…and make photography a therapy for those who have undergone chemotherapy. One day in 2021, Patricia learned of her breast cancer.

When they told me, I thought I was going to die a month later! I really didn’t expect this. And then, I added everything together: the illness, the separation, the chemotherapy… I realized that we are immortal… Oh, damn, it’s a slip of the tongue!

Confront your image, free yourself from wounds to reconnect with yourself. Makeup brush in hand, palettes in bright, shimmering colors beside, Julie Proietto, from Atelier XVe, recognizes the importance of her work: “Unfortunately, sometimes life doesn’t give us any gifts and spoils the beauty. So, we tear off the masks and show them who they are!”

Click, clack… Light, black background, and above all huge pink tulle ribbon around the bodies. The photo session worthy of the biggest studios takes place: “You don’t realize how sublime you are. You need to realize it!” Photographer’s words between two shots.

“It looks like I’m giving myself a hug.”comments Patricia Bigeard in front of this photo, her photo:

The Vençois studio approached the SOS Cancer Paca & Corse association to select the models. Because we are all affected in one way or another by this damn crab, Atelier XVe wanted to organize these two days of photo shooting in a setting specially created for the occasion, for members of the SOS breast cancer association. in order to forget this fight for a few hours. Reconnecting with yourself will be the key word of this timeless moment!” specify the initiators.

Throughout the session, Carole, a slam poetry author, created personalized poems for these warriors.

Photos to erase the hardships and words to enlighten the future.
