With the autumn K-live, a new fresco adorns the walls of Sète

Entitled “The council of wise men”, it has been visible since Saturday, Place du Pouffre.

Since this Saturday, October 5, a new fresco has adorned the Place du Pouffre in Sète. As part of K-Live autumn, organized until October 10, the artist Philippe Baudelocque was invited to create a work, initially planned for June. Due to the installation of electoral panels at this location, he was unable to carry out the exercise. A blessing in disguise, he nevertheless assures: “I discovered another face of Sète, more Sète, less touristy. This delay also allowed me to think about a different work than the one initially planned.”

Represent wisdom

Titled The Council of Eldersthis fresco on a black background, with a purple solid color, represents seven ladybugs. “I like geometry and I wondered how I could arrange several ladybugs. I did a computer simulation and I said to myself that it wasn’t bad”explains Philippe Baudelocque who used oil pastel for his work. And to add: “I wanted to represent wisdom by showing that it is not found in the one who knows the most, but in these little ladybugs gathered in council.”

The artist from the region will also be featured at the launch of the MaCo de Thau, an open-air museum of the Thau basin, which will begin in Poussan, from October 7 to 10.
