Jorgen Andreas 76 took possession of the MUR located behind the Cotin space, this Friday at the very beginning of the afternoon. At his feet, numerous pots of paint of all colors, rollers, brushes, brushes and sprays. “I might not use all the colors. Each tool brings the line that I am going to make,” he says. After two hours of work, he reached the end of his work. A few more finishing touches, before revealing it the same evening, during the opening. His work flashes. “It brings joy, this whole combination of colors is really very beautiful,” slips a passerby.
“I never know in advance what I am going to reproduce”
“In recent months, I have developed a passion for neon colors, it gives a 90s feel,” he laughs. I never know in advance what I am going to reproduce, I compose it as I go. I do a first task and everything is composed until there is a balance around it. » The artist is a regular at large urban walls. He made several in his region of Poitou. In Poitiers in particular, but also elsewhere: “as soon as I move, I paint. »
The gesture
Jorgen got into graffiti at a very young age. “I started around 13-14 years old. » Before painting in the studio then devoting himself to abstract painting. He exhibits regularly in France and abroad, mainly in Europe. “It is not particularly the aesthetic quality of the wall that interests me, but the moment when I am going to paint, especially the gesture. »

Jorgen Andreas wants to be discreet. He wishes to remain anonymous and never reveals his face in front of photographers. “I’m not here to be recognized, it’s mainly my painting that I want to make known. » Its creation is visible until January 27, 2025.
