A breath of fresh air and an artistic escape: this is what artist Pascal Bost from Château-Landon (Seine-et-Marne) offers, with the presentation of new paintings from his series “ Stone Flowers » exhibited during Heritage Days, but also during the next two weekends. It is in the garden of the Hôtel de la Monnaie (11 rue du Porche) that he chose to place his paintings, for an open-air exhibition.

In this new series, the one we know especially for his very mineral or very abstract worksdecided to combine this double inspiration, and to associate flowers… a profusion of flowers: “This gives this approach the character of a still life, nevertheless very alive,” he describes.

The artist, who is in search of new artistic expressions, while fleeing this era which he considers “hostile and barbaric”, wanted to bring in this new series a universe “dreamlike, colorful and fluid, made of lightness”.

His goal? “Bring to anyone who looks at my work, a little serenity and appeasement, a positive and poetic parenthesis on spaces of freedom”. If he denies wanting to deliver a message, his ambition is that of escape through colors and romanticism.

A mix of techniques

And it is no coincidence that Pascal Bost chose to exhibit his works outdoors: “ This is an opportunity for me to trace an intuitive bridge and instinctive with the passion that drives me for the art of the garden and nature in general.

To create these astonishing canvases which mix stone and flowers, he condensed his different working techniques: “scraped earth, dripping, sfumatos, transparencies, overlays of glazes…”. A real laboratory of experiences, techniques and colors, to discover, with special guest Nicolas Sgard who will present and sign his book “Poémoscopes” on Sundays September 29 and October 6.

Please note that those who would like to see the exhibition on other dates, Pascal invites you to contact him: he will present it to you over lunch!

To see on September 28 and 29, then October 5 and 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 11 rue du Porche. Exhibition canceled in case of bad weather. Info on 06 64 94 67 35 or by email: [email protected].
