After announcing in May that she had separated from her fiancé Diego El Glaoui, who runs an influencer agency, Iris Mittenaere began a relationship with Bruno Pelat this summer. The latter was taken into custody on Tuesday for violence against his partner in a police station in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, according to Voici. Information confirmed by Le Parisien. His custody was extended on Wednesday afternoon. The former beauty queen was injured in the hand and was present at an event on Tuesday evening with a splint. The violence was described as “minor”: at first, the young woman did not want to file a complaint before finally changing her mind on Wednesday morning.
The heir to a lineage close to power
Aged 22 and rather discreet – he does not expose himself on social networks – Bruno Pelat is the son of a businessman specializing in real estate. He is Olivier Pelat, godson of Liliane Bettencourt, heiress of L’Oréal who died in 2017, of whom he was the legal guardian from 2011. Grandfather Roger-Patrice Pelat was a close friend of François Mitterrand, as reported by Les Echos.
Olivier Pelat built his empire in just twenty-five years. His company, Euroéquipements, builds offices and hotels all over France. “The group that I run owns and operates several thousand rooms,” he admitted to Les Echos. The Pelats are among the richest families in France: with an estimated fortune of €1.6 billion, Challenges places them in 78th place in the ranking of the 500 professional fortunes in France, published last July.
Bruno Pelat is also the president of the company “Apollon investments”, created in 2023, which operates in the same field as his father, real estate. He also seems, as indicated by La Voix du nord, to work in the family business, according to certain messages posted by other people on LinkedIn.
A discreet relationship
Followed by nearly 3.4 million people on Instagram and previously used to exposing her life as a couple with Diego El Glaoui, Iris Mittenaere did not wish to give more information about Bruno Pelat on social networks.
Indeed, the young woman had already explained in July to the magazine Ciné Télé Revue that she now wanted to keep her private life away from the media: “There is no good option. In any case, it’s the downside of fame. When you don’t reveal enough, you have the paparazzi at the foot of your building and it can be very difficult to live with. And on the other hand, when you open up too much, you feel like you have to give more and more. But I don’t regret anything. The life I lead is so wonderful. Sharing certain things with your community is worth it despite everything,” she had confided. For the time being, neither she nor her new partner have spoken about the current affair.
