The fall programming is gradually being revealed. This Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the Louvre- Museumin Pas-de-Calais, welcomes a brand new exhibition of 200 works originals. It is titled Exiles: Artists’ Views. We present it to you.

From September 25 to January 20

This fall, the Louvre-Lens explores the links between art and exile, in a pluralistic program thought up in sharing with the public and the inhabitants. “It underlines the permanence of an issue that accompanies humanity and has continued to evolve throughout history,” we learn.

The exhibition, curated by Dominique de Front-Réaulx, curator at the Louvre Museum, was conceived as “a sensitive event, dedicated to artistic creation from yesterday and today.”

She brings together 200 works and objects very great artists, having known exile or having experienced it through the desire to make it present, thanks to their accomplishments. Exils is an exhibition mixing mythology and history, ancient art and contemporary creation, literature and philosophy.

Its particularity is that some objects and testimonies come from a collection from people living in the territory. “This project creates a link with the inhabitants and their life stories,” it is emphasized.

Among the works presented, we find Chatillon Castleby Gustave Courbet; The Memoryby Marc Chagall; Footbridge in Zaandam by Claude Monet; or again Black Dawnby Yan-Pei Ming. The exhibition is on display until January 20th! And don’t forget, the Galerie du Temps is closed for several months for renovations.
