an exceptional 4th edition of the Sologne Nature Image photo festival

Sologne Nature Image, this photographic festival dedicated to nature, organized by the association Festival Sologne Nature Image, in collaboration with the City of Salbris and the Sologne tourist office, with the support of the departmental council and several private partners, was created in 2021 and then had 17 photographers for its first edition. Three years later, 61 photographers, a club and 3 associations will exhibit from September 13 to 15, 2024. For the first time, all the exhibitors will be gathered in the three rooms of the Cotonnerie, a beautiful place emblematic of the history and heritage of Salbris.

Exhibitors from 18 departments

This Salbris event thus becomes the largest nature photography meeting in the Centre-Val de Loire region and a must-see in France. The 65 exhibitors come from 18 departments of France and also from Belgium.

The jury prize was awarded this year to Jean-Charles Gautier, from Angers, who will then exhibit at the Maurice-Genevoix gallery in the Sologne tourist office in Salbris, from September 17 to November 2. David Lapeyronnie (Bourges) came in second place and Christelle Mercier (Aubigny-sur-Nère) came in third.

A competition and materials for schools

Alongside the festival, a photo competition was organized for elementary schools in the Sologne des Rivières community of communes and middle schools in Sologne (Salbris, Romorantin, Lamotte-Beuvron and Neung-sur-Beuvron). Each participating class had to provide three nature photos, which were also exhibited during the three days of the Festival.

The Crédit Agricole Foundation will once again be alongside the Festival this year. Indeed, after having provided the Ulis system of the Gaston-Jollet college in Salbris with two cameras last year, the Foundation will give the same equipment to the Ulis systems of the Léonard-de Vinci (Romorantin), Jean-Rostand (Lamotte-Beuvron) and Louis-Pergaud (Neung-sur-Beuvron) colleges.

Festival from Friday September 13 to Sunday September 15, 2024, Friday 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at La Cotonnerie, impasse de la Cotonnerie in Salbris.
