Emmanuel Macron made the Louvre the symbol of his victory. He now wants to invest in its renovation. Today, from the top of this glass pyramid, nearly 40 years look down on us. Planned for four million visitors, the largest museum in the world receives more than double that number. The reception is obsolete, the ceiling leaks in places and the Mona Lisa is under attack. The Louvre is overwhelmed by its success. Why is the head of state taking up the matter? “The Louvre is the symbol of the president who works to protect and transmit the eternal French”explains Emmanuel Macron’s entourage.
