After the results of the two tricolor clubs engaged in the Europa League Thursday evening, France marks the step after this European week, with two successes in six games.
The noose is tightening – a little – this Friday morning between France (5th) and the Netherlands (6th) in the ranking of the UEFA index. Crucial issue since it grants seven qualifying tickets for Europe (4 for the Champions League, including 3 direct, two for the Europa League and one for Conference League), 5th place is still occupied by the representatives of the Hexagon. But the three -color clubs have lost a little field this week.
Feyenoord crushes Bayern, mixed assessment for French clubs
Of the six Ligue 1 clubs engaged in the Champions League (Lille, Brest, Paris and Monaco) and in the Europa League (OL, Nice), only two left with a victory. If the beautiful successes of Paris against Manchester City (4-2) and Monaco against Aston Villa (1-0) were important, the defeats of Lille (against Liverpool, 2-1), Brest (against the Shakhtar Donetsk, 2-0) and Nice (opposite Elsborg, 1-0) cost a few points. Lyon, for its part, could not do better than a draw against Fenerbahçe (0-0) but is well committed for a direct qualification for the 8th finals of C3.
Dutch clubs have almost signed a full card this week. In C1, Feyenoord struggled with the way Bayern Munich (3-0), while the PSV Eindhoven won against Belgrade (3-2). Az Alkmaar (1-0 against Roma) and Twente (2-3 against Malmö) shone in C3, but Ajax missed the mark against Rigas (defeat 1-0).

And concretely, what does this give to the UEFA index classification? This Friday, France has 64,950 points (10,499 in the current year), against 61,232 for the Netherlands (9,332). The four tricolor representatives in the Champions League are in favorable tosh to compete in the dams (or already guaranteed to be there) and therefore possibly continue to report points, just like the two Batavian clubs (Feyenoord is 11th, the PSV 19th). In C3, Nice is already eliminated, Twente is in unfavorable toddle.
As a reminder, France is guaranteed to have seven qualifying tickets for Europe next season. And remains, for the moment, well left to afford the same quota for the 2026-2027 season.
