The Clémentine de la Féronnière Gallery announces the opening of the second monographic exhibition of the Japanese artist Mikiya Takimoto. The exhibition highlights a selection of recent works by the artist, from the Le Corbusier, Grain of Light, Snow Mountain, and Lumière series.
Photographer and filmmaker born in 1974 in Aichi, Mikiya Takimoto is known for his contemplative approach to space and nature. His work is characterized by a deep reflection on the relationship between man and his environment, in which the principle of mujo resonates, evoking the impermanence of all things. This principle emphasizes the idea that time, as we understand it, is illusory. Takimoto’s work, driven by this relationship with time, invites a serene exploration of solitude.
Takimoto’s work is embodied in landscapes, natural or urban, in which the absence of man intensifies the sensory experience. His landscapes become a place of meditation, where photography goes beyond simple representation to become the vector of raw and deep emotion.
-The exhibition brings together previously unpublished works of photographic work that takes root on the seven continents. From the thoughtful architecture of Le Corbusier, to the striking photographs of the sea taken from a clifftop in Indonesia in Grain of Light, to the majesty of the snow-capped mountains of Snow Mountain and the vegetation of Kyoto’s temples in Lumiere, the exhibition offers a complete immersion in the unique world of Mikiya Takimoto.
