Long anchored in the Parisian landscape, balls are making a comeback in our capital : around the Roaring Twenties at the Château de Versailles, in chic guinguette mode at Butte-aux-Cailles, or even inspired by the world of Bridgerton… And there you have it the Museum of Decorative Artsa cultural institution in Paris, joins the dance! To celebrate the centenary of its Art Deco exhibitionthe establishment prepares an exceptional social evening on July 6, 2025. History, fashion and French art of living will twirl in a majestic setting.
Grand ball at the Museum of Decorative Arts: Sofia Coppola as artistic director
On the artistic direction side, the Museum of Decorative Arts thought of Sofia Coppolathe most Parisian of American directors. If you have seen his film Marie Antoinetteyou know thatshe loves Paris, its history, and has a unique aesthetic flair. “This city, which I consider my second home, touches me deeply,” she explains. “Celebrating such a symbol of French culture is a particular source of inspiration.” With Sofia at the helm, this ball will undoubtedly rival those in Vienna or New York (shudder, MET Gala!).
A fashion and social event for a good cause
But the Grand Fashion Ball at the Museum of Decorative Arts is not just a prestigious evening. Although there will be a highly anticipated red carpet, where we are likely to be amazed, the event is also intended to be charitable. An exclusive party will precede a major event open to the promises of design and fashion schools. The objective is to highlight the museum and its exhibitions, including that of Arts Déco, which will symbolically celebrate its 100th anniversary that day. More info to come.
