Raising awareness about climate change
This year's winning photos show the diversity and complexity of weather phenomena, from storms and floods to frost formations and rainbows. Professor Liz Bentley, director of the Royal Meteorological Society, says these images reveal how weather patterns are interconnected on a global scale. As the climate continues to change as a result of human activities, these works remind us, at their own level, of the urgency of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to slow down climate change..
