“Even at a certain age we can accomplish things and surprise”: Anik St-Pierre from “La Voix” launches an album at 51

Drawing on his experiences at The Voice in France and The voice this winter – remember the power of his voice and his big gap at the end of his performance on River Deep Mountain High blind auditions – Anik St-Pierre will launch her second album of original compositions on June 7 at her home in Shawinigan.

Titled resume, the opus is in a way the “life path” of the 51-year-old artist, who began his career on television at the age of 6 in his native Mauricie. The one who could have been the new Nathalie Simard or the new Céline Dion then multiplied the appearances on the small screen in her region, before arriving as a teenager in the metropolis in the shows Montreal live And Garden Party.

Anik St-Pierre’s album “CV” will be launched on June 7.

We told you about her in this article, in January, following her blind audition during the 10th season of “La Voix”. She ended up in Roxane Bruneau’s team.

After refusing to change her identity when she turned 18 as her manager at the time demanded, Anik St-Pierre left the song for a while and had her daughter Sherilyn. It was her current partner, Marc Isabelle, who convinced her to return to the spotlight and she has never given up her love of the stage, she who does shows left and right, in addition to teach singing in his own school.

This new album – she also released a record in 2015 – will be followed by a first concert, on June 8, at Espace Shawinigan, which will recount her 45-year career. The launch will also be held there the day before.

“It’s quite a trip that I’m having here,” said the friendly interpreter in an interview with the QMI Agency on Monday.

“This record is thanks to the people. When I did The voice, I didn’t expect such a big reaction and I realized that I’m really on my X. Age really doesn’t matter and we’re not over fifty! People understood that the split was not an artifice, it was a symbol that even at a certain age we can accomplish things and surprise” she mentioned, she who is open to having the support a record company and a manager.

Anik St-Pierre ended his blind audition by doing the splits, which caused a sensation during the very first episode of the 10th season of “La Voix”, last January on TVA.

Ready since last summer and produced by the singer – a fundraising campaign on Ulule helped her pay for the hours spent in the studio – the disc is the sum of all the experiences and tastes of Anik St- Rock. The influences are blues, country, funk and rock. There are of course catchy songs and ballads.

“I no longer have time to fool around (laughs), I want to show who I am, all that I am, with all my facets,” said Anik St-Pierre.

Listen to excerpts from the album resume from Anik St-Pierre:

She participated in the writing of most of the songs, but the “piano man” Christian Marc Gendron, a former The voiceoffered him the coin The truth. The rapper Sir Pathétik and Daniel Mailloux, a musician from Marjo, also collaborate with her, to name just a few.

We remember that Anik St-Pierre finished his journey at The voice during his duel against Andrew on All the cries, the SOSa play by Daniel Balavoine popularized here by the great Marie Denise Pelletier.

Anik St-Pierre now dreams of a tour in Quebec and France.

All episodes of the 10th season of The voice are available for catch-up on TVA+.
