The M6 TV host has, for several months, been immersed in numerous controversies, concerning accusations of domestic violence, from several ex-partners. Indeed, a judicial investigation was carried out last March, and Stéphane Plaza had been placed in police custody. Despite demonstrations by people committed to violence against women, M6 decided to continue broadcasting the host’s programs.
But it is this time for a completely different reason that the TV and radio host is in turmoil. In fact, he recently posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account, on a boat. The post in question was accompanied by this caption: “Like Christopher Columbus, I sail the waves for a new adventure“.
A legend that shocked Internet users
The publication, and mainly the associated words, did not please Internet users at all. But they are not the only ones to be outraged. Indeed, Serge Letchimy, president of the Executive Council of Martinique (head of local authority services), declared on this subject on X: “The evocation of this name constitutes an unforgivable insult to our people, Martinique and Guadeloupe. Mr. Plaza, I urge you to change course, because no ship should seek to dock on shores whose history and peoples it does not respect“, he first delivered.
