In Quimper, his declaration at the Museum of Fine Arts allowed him to give a final turn of the key before work

The Museum of Fine Arts will undergo major work which will force it to remain closed for fifteen months. A final symbolic turn of the key was given on Sunday September 29 by Hélène Talbot. This retiree from Quimper had this privilege because she won the competition organized by the City aimed at sending a last message to the museum before its closure.

In a musical and festive atmosphere, Bernard Kalonn, deputy mayor in charge of culture, read some extracts from his declaration of love to the museum. Beginning her letter with “Dear museum”, this woman who lived at the time on rue Verdelet wrote: “you were there on the way to high school, that’s where I discovered painting”, continuing “finally the moments spent together mark my life”, then “you are going to continue your change, I will have to wait”. And to conclude: “Beautiful change to you my museum, elsewhere is never far away when you love”.

And it was with emotion that Hélène Toulbot gave the turn of the key to this Museum of Fine Arts so dear to her heart.

Roof insulation, overhaul of the frames, replacement of the air conditioning, repair of the workshop are part of the scheduled work.
