Jérôme Bouet, born in Berry in 1968, at the gates of Sologne, has always had an attraction to nature. “I have always been attracted to nature and wildlife. So, photography quickly became an obvious choice in my leisure activities, with forests, plains, banks of ponds and rivers in my region as my photographic playground. »

Varied techniques to approach your subjects

For this he practices the lookout, the approach or the billebaude with the same passion. His perception of the photo is to be a discreet witness to a wild, beautiful and fragile nature. For several years now, he has specialized a little more in a particular technique, the floating hide, which he practices in all seasons on a few private ponds in Solognot as well as on the rivers around his home. This photographic technique allows him to blend completely and with great discretion into the intimacy of his subjects, whether they are feathered or furry. It allows him to obtain good proximity by combining both the discretion of the lookout with the advantage of the mobility of the approach technique.

He will explain these techniques and in particular that of the floating blind, during a conference at the Fabrique Normant on October 3.

More than ever, wild nature needs to be supported. Knowing it and understanding it better through the works of photographers means becoming an actor who can also support and share with the English scientist and philosopher Francis Bacon: “We will only triumph over Nature by loving it, obeying it and respecting it.”
