A big name in filmmaking! On the occasion of its post-Olympic reopening and its 20th anniversary, the Jeu de Paume is preparing, from September 28 to January 19, to celebrate the iconic American photographer Tina Barney with a panoramic exhibition – the biggest ever produced on the Old Continent – which retraces more than 40 years of creation, entitled Family Ties.
Portraits with quite prodigious composition
A career during which the New Yorker has staged family relationships with finesse and perspective, drawing portraits with quite prodigious composition of the wealthy classes of the United States in the 70s and 80s. False snapshots with the soft accents ofLove, glory and beauty and with delightfully retro pastel tones. Another Barney side will also be presented with his photos for magazines, both fashion, luxury and people.
To transcribe her full range, the Jeu de Paume has chosen to present 55 very large format photographs, between black and white, color, famous shots or unpublished shots. Enough to pay tribute as it should to this great lady of American photography.
