Norman Foster, architect of the future
Often referred to as“architect of the future”Norman Foster is at the head of his Foster + Partners structure and, at 89, seems more active than ever. While the Centre Pompidou dedicated a unique retrospective to him last summer, the Norman Foster Foundation presented the Essential Homes project at the Venice Biennale a few months later. The Pritzker Prize winner (1999) confided to AD last year to be animated by “anticipation of the future”. He is responsible for the complete renovation of a country house in the Cannes hinterland, put up for sale by the Côte d’Azur Sotheby’s International Realty agency.
A completely renovated Provençal country house
On the heights of Grasse, the Fonte Colombo country house embodies the Provençal art of living between land and sea, offering a panoramic view of the Mediterranean landscape. A real body to body with nature that takes place over 36,000 m² in total, the property having 600 century-old olive trees, 300 walnut trees and other fruit trees and two vast vegetable gardens. The British Norman Foster, a visionary architect, is currently working on various projects such as the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, the redevelopment of Marseille-Provence Airport, the Crystal Island in Moscow, as well as the Hermitage Towers in La Défense, symbols of the architecture of the future.
The country house is for sale for the sum of €8,500,000.
