The Contemporary Art Biennale returns for its 17th edition

The Contemporary Art Biennale, which will be held from September 21 to January 5, returns for its 17th edition in nine emblematic locations in the city.

Under the name “Crossing the water”, in other words “the voice of the rivers”, 78 international artists were invited this year to the Lyon Biennale, in order to respond to the chosen dual theme.

The major artistic event in and with an international dimension, present since 1991 in our city of Gones, has this year decided to combine two themes in the 9 proposed locations. The artists are invited to evoke, question, pursue the subject of the relationships that are formed and broken between beings and with their environment.

The nine places to find the Lyon Biennale

This year, one of the main sites of the Biennale is in La Mulatière in the Grandes Locos, formerly dedicated to the maintenance and repair of the freight train fleets that traveled across France. Other important sites are the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie at the Grand Hôtel Dieu in the city center of Lyon, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lyon, and the Institute of Contemporary Art of .

Among the remaining places, we can mention the Museum of Fine Arts and its garden, the Bullukian Foundation, the Gallo-Roman Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal, the LPA Saint Antoine car park, and the metro B station of the Part-Dieu train station, enough to delight lovers of contemporary art.
