Wanting to brighten up its town, the municipality of Trémel had contacted Gwendal Larher, painter from Plestin-les-Grèvesin spring 2024, for the creation of a fresco on the gable of the current town hall.

Several project proposals later, the artist began the concretization phase last week. The theme is the promotion of heritage, a subject that is particularly close to the creator’s heart.

A goldfinch at the top

On Thursday, September 5, passers-by could already admire the magnificent goldfinch that adorns the top of the fresco, just below the compass rose.

Its bright colours will be accompanied by a sepia-coloured creation where we can already recognise the silhouette of the Kermerzit manor.

“We went for a bit of a comic book treatment for the form. For the theme, I want to stay as close as possible to people’s daily lives, so that they recognize their places!”

The work should be completed by Wednesday evening, before the necessary surface treatment.
