A facelift for this essential anthem for ceremonies in homage to the Maid. We explain to you what will change this year.

Surprise ! A great wind of novelty will blow this year: the Cantata with the standard is, in fact, getting a nice facelift.

The hymn for these Johannine Festivals, written by Abbot Marcel Laurent and performed for the first time in 1899, has been revised and modernized.

A voice, instruments and a male soloist added

No sacrilege but a “filmographic version”, as Cédric Clément, the choirmaster, describes it, delivered by the Orléans composer Thibaut Vuillermet. “He redid all the orchestration, enriched with municipal music.” Harmonization too: a fourth voice has been added.

“Impressions de Loire”, the symphonic short film by Orléanais Thibaut Vuillermet, awarded several times in the United States

The percussions of Luc Arbogast and his acolytes from Cléry, his story in light, will always be there. “The man’s solo you’ll hear didn’t exist.” Baritone Virgile Frannais will sing alongside soprano Daphné Corregan for a unique duet. The choir which will accompany them will also return to the cathedral square, outside. He’s probably praying that the weather stays dry…

Vibrate with the ephemeral Johannine choir which will perform three times during the Joan of Arc Festival in Orléans
